Recently, baked organised a tea party, and I was fortunate enough to be invited! When I got there, I was really impressed with the decorations. It was so simple and yet so pretty and the desserts looked really, really good.
If you’re anything like me, by this point of the post, you’re seating in your seat salivating and wishing that you could taste these yummy looking desserts. While I can’t offer you some, here’s what I thought of baked‘s dessert table.
If you LOVEE chocolate, but don’t like the sickening sensation of consuming too much, this would be perfect for you. The Hazelnut Tartlet is simple in its looks but tastes oh-so-heavenly. The hazelnut filling is smooth and fluid without being overwhelmingly sweet and is complimented by the cocoa flavoured tart. I couldn’t resist having more than one!
The Apple Cinnamon Cupcakes with Caramel Frosting is by far my FAVOURITE of the whole dessert table. The caramel frosting has a sugary and buttery consistency which is balanced out by the fruity apple cinnamon base. I really like the effort gone into decorating these cupcakes too! Look at all those detailing in the frosting. Can you imagine the time and effort put into it?? Personally, I wouldn’t have the patience to make such pretty cupcakes.
Don’t be fooled by the looks of the Key Lime Tartlets. While it may look basic, there’s definitely more to it than meets the eye. The Key Lime Tartlets has a sweet and tangy flavour which goes well with the tart. The texture is a variation of creamy and crumbly. Personally, I would have preferred if the flavour had more of a sour edge to it, but that’s just my personal preference. All in all it was really yummy and was a nice variation from the rest of the desserts as it triggers a different side of your taste palette.
For me, the Strawberry Crumble Trifle was really fun to eat. I always love eating desserts out clear cups. I like the variation of textures in this dessert. The crumble is lightly sweetened and chewy whilst the whipped cream and strawberries brought a fresh and light flavour. The whipped cream and strawberries helped to balance the sweetness of the crumble. To me, the trifle is a deconstructed version of baked‘s Strawberry Fraisier but I may be wrong.
I’m gonna be honest here… When I first found out that it was a carrot cake, I was very reluctant to try it because from what I remember carrot cakes are dry and hard and a pain to swallow. Which is why this carrot cake took me by surprise.. baked‘s carrot cake has a moist sponge-y texture. The flavour from the sultanas, cinnamon and carrots was very pleasant and went well together. The cream cheese frosting further complimented the cake. If you’re a fan of carrot cakes or have been meaning to try one, go ahead and order one from baked. It just might end up being your favourite.
A basic tea with a light, fruity flavour, it helped to balance out the strong flavours from the rest of the dessert. I really appreciated how baked chooses the beverage to complement their desserts. This tea definitely went well with the rest of the dessert table!
I do have to say that baked puts in a lot of thought and effort into their dessert tables and products. If you would like to see what unique experiences they can provide, check them out at the links below!
