Beauty Review: Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner

I had heard many good things about the Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner prior to purchasing it. It is after all a cult favourite. But I always had a hard time justifying spending the money on it. However, when I was in the market for a new liquid eyeliner, I decided that now was the time to take that leap of faith to see if it was worth the splurge. First Impression of the Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner As with every Kat Von D product, the packaging has intricate gothic-esque details on it and is rather sturdy. The eyeliner casing is just the right size, making it easy-to-grip and apply. The brush has a nice pointy tip so that you could get down to the finest of lines. Super pigmented and opaque. Although it dries quick, it is quite buildable and doesn’t become clumpy. Pros Now I kid you not, but I was absolutely jaw-droppingly impressed with how unsmudgeable the Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner was. Most liquid eyeliners that I’ve tried, smudges within …

Beauty Review: Ere Perez Quinoa Water Foundation

Ere Perez is an Australian-owned company that produces natural and healthy beauty products. In the past, I did a first impressions of some of their new products at that time (which you can check out here) and fell in love with the brand! I recently received another package from them, and one of the products is the Ere Perez Quinoa Water Foundation (A$40). It is a new product of theirs and I was eager to test it out on my skin. Will it match my skin tone? Will it come out cake-y on my skin? What will the formula be like? Hmm… So many questions that needed to be answered. To be honest with you, I have never been a fan of using foundation as they are known to contain many different chemicals and nasties. Just the thought of that alone with the additional knowledge that the product will be caked on my face and clogging my pores for hours at a time really deterred me from using foundation. In addition to that, I have …

Beauty Review: Pixi Nourishing Sleep Mask

I was scrolling through Sephora’s phone app one day, when this Nourishing Sleep Mask caught my eye! The idea behind the Nourishing Sleep Mask is that it is used as the last step of your nighttime routine to “seal in” the products that you applied before it, like your serums and moisturiser. It provides a nutrient-rich veil of moisture while you sleep. The formula is packed with fatty acids to plump and regenerate, strengthening arganine , and fruit & flower oils to deeply soothe your skin. The treatment is supposed to leave your skin feeling silky-smooth to the touch and looking more plump. And the cherry on top? It’s paraben free too! So OF COURSE I had to put it to the test! (Can I still say… #IDidItForTheBlog?) I was excited to try this out as it was an opportunity for me to pamper my skin without having to put in that much effort. So here’s my first impression of the product… The smell was pleasant and nothing too overpowering. For some reason, I thought that it …

Beauty Review: Meet Matt(e) Hughes – Trustworthy

Every time I walk pass a display of ‘theBalm’ products, the main thing that catches my eye is their kitschy retro packaging. But I’ve never purchased any of their products until now… (jeng jeng jeng..) theBalm claims that the Meet Matt(e) Hughes range has a long-wearing formula that has a comfortable matte finish with no commitment issues. Their products are also paraben and cruelty free. Since I didn’t have a colour similar to this one, I bought the Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade Trustworthy. It is a warm brown red-ish nude and I absolutely love the colour! The formula is lightweight and has a vanilla mint scent. Upon applying, you can feel the tingle of the mint on your lips. Initially, I found the tingly sensation a bit off-putting but have since grown accustomed to it. The colour payoff is great and true to the tube; just a few swipes and you have an opaque finish. It dries and sets quickly which makes it a great choice even when you’re in …

Beauty Review: Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask

Bite Beauty is a Toronto based beauty company solely focusing on lips. They manufacture without compromise by sourcing food-grade, or good-enough-to-eat ingredients, and producing each and every product in house —proving there’s no sacrifice in quality for products sourced from nature. After swatching a sample of the Agave Lip Mask at Plush Cosmetics, a cosmetics boutique store, I decided to invest in the Agave Lip Mask in clear. I honestly did not know that it came in other colours too. Regardless, I’m happy with what I got. My favourite part of this product (as always) is the fact that it’s formulated without Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates. The Agave Lip Mask is a soothing, leave-on lip mask that replenishes moisture. Bite Beauty claims that this innovative formula smooths, nourishes, and hydrates lips with a bioactive blend of organic agave nectar, jojoba oil, vanilla co2 extract, and triple the amount of the antioxidant trans-resveratrol found in red wine. So I decided to put it to the test… My first impression of the product was that the consistency is very …

Beauty Review: Custom Lipsticks @The Lip Lab Perth

Ever since I walked pass Lip Lab in Freo, I’ve been itching for a go at customising my very own lipstick shades. However, I did also want someone to go with who would be equally enthusiastic about the experience. Fortunately for me, I had just met Tammy, my fellow lipstick enthusiast. Spurred on by Safiya’s Bite Lip Lab experience, we booked our appointments and excitedly headed down to the Lip Lab in Perth city. Prior to visiting the Lib Lab, I went through numerous reviews trying to find out if the lipsticks were worth the splurge because let’s be practical, beyond the experience, I wanted to know that I would still use my custom shades and enjoy them. However much to my disappointment, there wasn’t a peep about it. So I made it my mission to do some “fieldwork” and report back to all the wonderful people on the interwebs. 😉 I guess you could say, “I did it for the blog”. Haha. I would be lying if I didn’t admit that we were as …
