Skincare Review: Dr Roebuck’s PURE Face Moisturiser

If you know me, I’m an avid lover of natural skincare products. Growing up with eczema, dry, and sensitive skin, I’ve always been very careful with the creams that I use, because one small step could lead to my skin itching up, turning red, or even swelling! But as I got older, I realised that natural products could be more beneficial for my skin and I began to try them out. Once I started, I was hooked! One of my tries was Dr Roebuck’s PURE Face Moisturiser which is a day and night face cream. Dr. Roebuck’s products are made in Australia with minimal ingredients for maximum results. PURE claims to be an ultra-hydrating, hypoallergenic cream packed with essential, naturally derived ingredients to hydrate and soothe sensitive skin. The formula combats flaky, eczema-prone skin as well as nourish and soften the complexion. And this wonder-products is only formulated with 7 ingredients, two of which are natural preservatives. In addition to that, their packaging is made up of 100% recyclable material, and it’s also cruelty-free. It’s a win-win! The main …

Beauty Review: Clinique Quickliner for Eyes

In my opinion, the quickest way to glam up or put together any look is a quick stroke of eyeliner. My go-to eye look has always been black winged eyeliner and if I was going for something a bit more elaborate, an addition swipe of my eye-shadow stick. After almost 6 years of practice, I can easily and almost perfectly complete my eye makeup within 5 minutes. (Thank God for steady hands!) Recently, I’ve been drawn to pencil liners which led to my latest purchases. I was browsing the Catch of the Day app when I came across these two Clinique Quickliner for Eyes that were on offer.   Since I was in the market for new eyeliner, I bought the colours 01 new black and 02 smoky brown. Initially I thought that the colours would look darker and more opaque but they turned out to be in more muted tones. Fortunately, I’ve been drawn to natural looks and did not mind it too much.   Pros:  Now I have tried many different pencil liners, and disliked most of them as they tend to …

October Favourites 2014

First of all, I can’t believe how quickly October ended. October has been such a roller coaster ride for me. It has been difficult trying to juggle assignments, work, life, and also staying healthy all at once (life of an Uni student). BUT with the help of a few things that I consider my ‘happy pills’, I have managed to retain my sanity. Secondly, WELCOME NOVEMBER! In this monthly favourite, I have chosen (in no particular order) 5 of my top favourite obsessions in the month of October.  1) Savvy Ultra Matte Lip Colour  I went into Priceline a while ago to casually look around and kill time while I was on my work break. I told myself that I won’t buy anything but, I came across this lip product which was on sale and immediately, had the strongest urge to try it. I usually gravitate towards brighter colours when it comes to lip products but, somehow this nude-brown lip product caught my attention. To be honest, I have dry lips and since this product …

September Favourites 2014

Hello my lovely dudettes! It’s time for my September favourites. I can’t believe it’s October already! Where did all the time go…? September has been a pretty hectic month and believe it or not, I did not have much time to try new beauty products. So this month’s favourites consists mainly of products that I’ve been using for a while but have been really loving this month! 1. Australis Mineral Face Highlighter – Pearl I’ve been meaning to get a highlighter for a really long time. I bought this product from Priceline at the beginning of the month. This is the first time that I’m using a highlighter and wow.. do I have to say, I’m really pleased with the results. The shade Pearl is perfect for my skin tone and gives me the right amount of oomph and dewy effect. The product has a slight shimmer but just enough to brighten up your face and give you a fresh and light glow. I didn’t need to use too much of the product to see …

Review: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel

I honestly did not intend to try out Sally Hansen’s miracle gel range. However, after stumbling upon this colour online and noticing that the colour is very similar to how Pacific Blue (from Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails Xtreme range) used to look like, I could not resist trying it out. I tried out Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel range in the shade 360 Tidal Wave. It has a basic 2 step application process and claims to last up to 14 days.   The colour is a gorgeous vibrant blue that stands out from afar. The consistency of the polish is very good as it only needs 2 coats to be opaque. For all of you who want pretty nails but don’t have the patience to go through the tedious process of base coat to top coat, this range is perfect for you as you don’t need to apply a base coat prior to the colour. The polish also dries quite fast compared to most polishes. What I really liked about this range is that it …
