Review: YoloFoods Meal Plan – To eat or not to eat?

In this day and age where such a vast variety of food is so easily available at the touch of your fingertips, we are often left with the age-old question: what do you want to eat? Choice paralysis can stump the best of us and sometimes it’s easier to let someone else decide. With Meal Plan providers like YoloFoods the hardest part of each meal is trivial. YoloFoods provides tasty and healthy pre-packed meals that include mains, sides, snacks and tea tailored to your own personal fitness and wellness goals – whether that’s eating clean for a balanced diet, weight loss, retaining muscle mass with low carb and high protein meals, or aiding your transition into a vegetarian diet.

The process of the meal plan is fairly straightforward:  

1. Pick your meal plan 

Have a goal you desire? Do you want to lose weight, energise, or maintain your wellness? YoloFoods’ meal plans are carefully designed by their Certified Nutritionist and Executive Chef to help you reach your goals with no compromise on food and taste. 

2. Choose your calorie target and meal subscription duration 

Pick you daily calorie target then select how long you want to commit for the meal plan. The longer the meal plan subscription is, the cheaper. 

3. Choose your meal delivery dates 

After your order, you will receive a confirmation email to further customise your meal plan. While you are personalising your order, you can also plan out your meal delivery dates. It does not have to be consecutive days and can be adjusted to suit your schedule. 

4. Enjoy and repeat 

Open your door when the meal arrives, heat-up the food, and dig in. See the difference in your goals, and plan out your next target.  

We opted for the 5-Day Full Weight Loss Meal Plan which is a calorie deficit (or restrictive) approach plan designed by YoloFood’s in-house nutritionist to help you lose weight and shave off unwanted body fat with healthy, filling meals. 

Every day for the next 5 weekdays, we got a lunch and dinner, as well as a snack and tea. Some of the more notable meals for the week were the Brown Rice Paella with Chicken Thigh Chunks, Prawns and Squids, the Honey Miso Salmon with Quinoa and Broccoli, the Lemongrass Barramundi with Rice Noodles, Beansprouts, Spinach, and Clear Chicken Soup, and the Energy Bites snacks (we got the Hazelnut Chocolate and Pistachio and Dates flavours on two separate days). 

Overall, the YoloFood’s Meal Plan was an enjoyable experience. We have tried meal plans in the past, and oftentimes the taste and flavour of the meals are lacking. However, with YoloFood’s meal plan, we find that you can enjoy eating clean wholesome meals without compromising on taste.  Whether you have a specific health goal in mind or need healthy meals that complement your hectic lifestyle, the meal plans are extremely convenient. It saves you a lot of time and effort in meal planning, getting groceries, meal prepping, and cooking your food. At the same time, if you’re like us and opt not the check out the menu in advance, it’s like a game of food roulette and every meal is a surprise!
